In 2008 the BSA-Regal Group announced a new sponsorship agreement with Hampshire FA and agreed to invest vital funds into grassroots football around the county for the next 4 years. In the opening season of 2008-09, the investment from the BSA-Regal Group enabled Hampshire FA to recruit a full time community coach, support subsidies for new faith based clubs, develop representative football, deliver The FA's Respect programme locally and hold disability football events and a girls' summer tournament.
The four year agreement ran in line with Hampshire FA's county plan, meaning that they could use the funds to directly develop the areas reported on by active football.
The second instalment of BSA-Regal funding was invested during season 2009-10 on a number of new initiatives. The county was able to deliver power chair football taster sessions which later led to receiving a regional BBC Power of Sport award. Also during this season, Hampshire FA received the National Equality Standard from The FA and was able to launch the Tackle Racism by Text initiative.
Funds also continued to support representative football, community coaching and new age appropriate coaching courses.
In season 2010-11 Hampshire FA plans to roll out a Charter Standard monitoring system to ensure that high standards are maintained throughout the county. Clubs with a Charter Standard achievement have been awarded this after demonstrating a number of good practice initiatives and complying with FA criteria. Hampshire FA now wishes to implement a monitoring system to ensure these standards continue and the funds of the BSA-Regal Group will support this.
With BSA-Regal Group's investment, Hampshire FA will also able to support league development further, introduce a Mini-Soccer league in the New Forest area and arrange additional coaching course bursaries.
Hampshire FA also has plenty of plans for season 2011-12, including purchasing branded kit for Referee Academies, implementing Get into Football campaigns and continuing with coaching course bursaries, representative football and the work of the Hampshire FA Community Coach.
