Countersinks

We manufacture the well respected and established Robert Charles brand of countersinks. The following countersinks are manufactured using HSS-E with 5% Cobalt which gives a much longer tool life when compared to normal high speed steel.

  • Rose Countersinks
  • Single Flute Countersinks
  • 3 Flute Countersinks
  • 2 Flute ‘Chatterless’ Countersinks

Application:

  • These tools are used to produce a countersink in a pre drilled hole to allow a screw to sit flush with the surface of the work piece.

Availability:

  • We offer a wide range of cutting sizes and have plentiful stock across the range. 60 and 90 degrees come as standard
These tools will cut right at the point allowing the user to countersink the smallest of holes or even pre-countersink the material before drilling. A comprehensive range of sizes up to 1.1/4” and angles from 60 to 100 degrees are available as standard
These DIN standard countersinks have a curved flute geometry with positive rake. This makes these tools ideal for machine fed applications due to the lower cutting forces and smooth cutting action. A comprehensive range of sizes from 4mm up to 50mm and angles from 82 to 120 degrees are available as standard. As with all of our countersinks, we can finish grind to any angle on request.

These 2 flute countersinks are specifically designed to reduce chatter. This is achieved by one of the cutting edges having no relief which acts as a steady to prevent the countersink from digging in and chattering. Although this results in the tools being less free cutting than other designs, they can offer a solution to applications which are prone to chatter. We recommend using these on non ferrous materials such as copper, brass and aluminium. Available in various angles and sizes to suit most countersink requirements.
These countersinks are available from 8mm to 25mm with angles of 60º, 82º, 90º, 100º and 120º as standard. Unlike our curved flute countersinks, the straight flute form allows the swarf to chip rather than curl away from the work piece which can be beneficial if long strings of swarf causes obstruction issues during machining.
